JOHANNESBURG – SOUTH Africa Taxi, a one-stop-solution shop for taxi business, has joined forces with technology company, Lenovo, to revolutionize the country’s minibus taxi industry.
By integrating a Lenovo ThinkAgile MX solution with Azure Stack HCI, SA Taxi has managed to reduce total cost of ownership by 28 percent and elevated performance metrics by 18 percent, according to officials.
Lenovo ThinkAgile MX solution is a series of Lenovo servers that have obtained Microsoft certification for use in a Microsoft Azure Stack HCI cluster and are delivered with the Azure Stack HCI operating system preinstalled.
By embracing the Lenovo ThinkAgile MX solution with Azure Stack HCI, SA Taxi is said to have unlocked new possibilities in IT modernization, paving the way for enhanced efficiency and performance optimization.
Dean Wolson, general manager, Lenovo Infrastructure Group, said the company was committed to empowering businesses of all sizes with innovative solutions that drive success.

He said by implementing the Lenovo ThinkAgile MX solution with Azure Stack HCI, SA Taxi had achieved significant cost savings and performance improvements, allowing them to focus on their core mission of supporting minibus taxi entrepreneurs and improving public transportation in South Africa.

SA Taxi is a cornerstone in financing and insurance in the minibus taxi industry.

According to the Statistics SA 2020 Household Survey, taxi operators transport over 15 million commuters every day across the country.
